Stalls at Pouk market dismantled

Hundreds of police and military police dismantled successfully local resident’s stalls at Pouk in front of Pouk market in Siem Reap province on Thursday around 5:30 am. This site will be used as car parking, according to the Post.

In late January, local authorities told all vendors to vacate it because their stalls were built close to the national road. Representatives of vendors said that there around 100 stall-holders removed outside the market but local officials confirmed only 35.

All vendors will be moved to a private market nearby and they can be granted three months’ free rent. But vendors refused because of high price.
