Information Ministry warned radio and TV broadcasters on air

In order to protect people’s freedom and rights, professional ethnics and the abuse of copyrights, Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information, issues a directive on Monday ordering all radio and television stations not to let broadcasters read newspaper articles on air without permissions from original sources, according to The Cambodia Daily.

In addition, adding personal comments by presenters is also stopped while reading and all radio and television stations also were threatened to be shut down if not obey the directive.

The directive read, previously, there are many some television and radio station that take information from the newspaper and magazine for their own information program without asking permission from the publication.

The directive continued, these stations also add more personal commentary on the context of the story, which affects news institutions and abuse copyright.

    also The Cambodia Daily does not object to its artcles being read out loud over radio or comments addedd by the station. reading does not infringe on our coptight.the cambodia daily need not have reported this. it is a trivial drective.
