Former Thai premier appointed as economic adviser
A degree signed by King Norodom Sihamoni on October 27, announced that former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was appointed as adviser to the Premier Hun Sen and adviser of the government of Cambodia in charge of economics.
After officially appointing former premier Thaksin, Thai government decided to send its ambassador to Phnom Penh back to Bangkok. And Cambodia’s government also sent its ambassador to Thailand back to Phnom Penh.
Former Thai the premier, Thaksin Shinawatra, was coupled from his power in 2006.
Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva was quoted by the VOA as saying that “we have recalled the ambassador as the first diplomatic retaliation measure to let the Cambodian government know the dissatisfaction of the Thai people.”
