Banteay Chmar temple to be listed as World Heritage Site

In a bid to conserve the heritage sites and the value, Cambodia’s government will list the 12th century Banteay Chmar temple as World Heritage Site, located in Bateay Mean Chey province about 60 km distance in the northern area of provincial town.

Delegation from Foundation for World Heritage and experts from UNESCO will visit the temple on Saturday.

Last year, the temple of Preah Vihear was listed as World Heritage Site in Canada. And then there have been arm dispute between Cambodian with Thailand soldier after three Thai people entered illegally into Cambodia’s territory.

In addition, Angkor Wat temple, Royal Ballet, and Khmer shadow theater have been listed as World Heritage Site already.
