16 Cambodian men were arrested by Thai police

Reportedly, 16 Cambodian villagers living in Choam Ksan district’s Kantuot commune have been detained by Thai police on Saturday evening, by accusing of illegally logging in Thai territory while walking from Preah Vihear province into Thailand.

According to district deputy police chief Pang Vanndy, the villagers were in Cambodian territory when they were detained, reported the Cambodia Daily.

Rath Sorphea, Preah Vihear provincial information director, said that 17 men were originally taken into police custody but one man was able to escape, continued Papers.
